About
When you reach out for support, it requires courage. I am honored to be in a position to hold space for people like yourself, and it is important to me that you feel heard, seen, and supported.
My approach is rooted in Internal Family Systems, and I will show up to sessions with curiosity, compassion, and a calming, non-judgmental presence that invites you and your parts to arrive exactly as you are. I work collaboratively, trusting that each individual has their own perfect pace and healing wisdom. Together, moving at the speed of trust, we will get to know your internal family of parts, gradually guiding them to more healing, choice, and liberation.
It is important to me to recognize and honor that our social context radically impacts us. Our lives and our parts are affected and shaped by the privileges we possess, the marginalization we endure, our identities, and how we are perceived by others. I am committed to holding a social justice and trauma-informed lens around our work.
In addition, I will approach our work with somatic awareness and a desire to tend the body through our process. Having studied Craniosacral Therapy as an adult and practiced energy work since I was a child, I am attuned to the way our body holds impressions of what has happened to us. In response to trauma and subsequent triggers, our body may react with activation or shut down. The body can also become a tool by which parts will try to get our attention, communicate, or protect us. We will work holistically to best attend to whatever is coming up for you.
I support individuals around:
Years ago, navigating my own healing path, I felt stuck. I was seeking transformation and freedom from old patterns, beliefs, and behaviors, but I couldn't seem to find a way forward. Having developed more awareness actually heightened my frustration and despair. With my newfound awareness, I would simply watch myself repeatedly crash in slow motion without being able to intervene effectively, reenacting painful old habits again and again despite knowing they would get me nowhere.
When I began seeing a new therapist who was trained in IFS, something radically shifted inside me. Working with Internal Family Systems enabled me to get to the root of my wounds and opened the way for more healing. Finally, I found myself unwinding old patterns and liberated from them.
Deeply impacted by the transformation I was able to access and inspired to extend this support to others, I began studying IFS in early 2020. I continue to glean valuable gifts through my personal work as a client of IFS, and am now thrilled to support folks on the other side as an IFS practitioner.
Please note that I am a Trauma Recovery Coach and Certified IFS Practitioner. I am not a licensed psychotherapist. If you are interested, I am happy to discuss in more detail my choice not to pursue a masters or licensing, as it is an option I’ve carefully contemplated.
